March Motivation

Let me just be honest... I had so many ideas for what I wanted my next post to be and so far, none of those ideas are working out in my favor.  But that's okay.  Can we just talk?  Rather, I talk and you read and I hope you can relate lol.  February went by so quickly and I didn't get to post all of what I wanted but the most important thing I wanted to post was "Healing and Forgiveness".  If you haven't read it, please go check it out and feel free to share it with someone else.

Where have I been?  What's new with me?  Well, I turned 24 and life has been a little hectic ever since lol.  At this point in the semester, assignments are piling up and I found that my motivation was going down.  On the bright side, I got an email a few days ago from my advisor and she let me know that I qualify to graduate with honors for outstanding academics, leadership, and community service from the National Council of Family Relations.  In addition, I get to graduate from my school with honors based on my GPA, yaaay!  The application process was a little difficult but I got it done.  Now we play the waiting game until I hear back from the committee.  Graduation is right around the corner and I can't wait to cross that stage.

I mentioned that my motivation for school (and really, most areas of my life) was declining and I am struggling with completing this semester with passion.  I am juggling 4 classes, an internship, my job, and everything outside of school.  I know that I can finish this semester but the finish line seems so far away sometimes.  The other day I was in Bible study and we studied the verse that I needed to hear.  God has a special way of telling us exactly what we need to know, exactly when we need to hear it.

The verse comes from Exodus 33 where God is preparing Moses to leave Israel.  Moses basically tells God, 'okay listen, You've been telling me to go on this journey but You haven't said who was going to go with me'.  In the same way, I feel like God is leading me to different things and preparing me for the next chapter in my life but I don't want to go alone.  Moses says, 'You know who I am and You have favor on me'.  I love God's reply:

"...My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest." Exodus 33:14 NIV

The next few months of my life will be fast-paced and so many things will change.  I've decided to make this verse my memory verse for the rest of the semester (really, for the rest of my life).  The same God who went with Moses is the same God who goes with me.  Surprise!  He goes with you too.  My attitude completely changed around when I read this because I realized that God will never take me to a place where He won't keep me.  Sometimes I get worried about the future but my goal is to think back to this verse and remember that God has special plans for me.  He doesn't call the equipped, He equips the called.

I know I missed my monthly favorites for February but I thought this post was a lot more impactful than posting beauty products.  Whether you're graduating this semester, beginning a new job, moving across the country, or just going through a transition in life, God is always with you.

"Be strong and courageous.  Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you." Deuteronomy 31:6 NIV
