Life Update: I'm Done!

It's been so long since my last post!  There are a lot of things that have happened in the last month that I can't wait to share with you all in posts to come.  To start off with... I graduated!  The anticipation is over, the race is finished (unless I go to grad school lol), the time has come.  It felt so surreal graduating and I was overwhelmed with many emotions.  I graduated on Friday, May 18th, and that whole weekend was such a whirlwind.  It was so nice to be able to celebrate with my friends and family.  I received such thoughtful gifts, words of encouragement, and so many other blessings but the one I loved the most was hearing my mom say, "I'm proud of you".  My entire college career was filled with one struggle after another, something I'll get into in an upcoming post, but that feeling when I walked across the stage was filled with complete joy.  God is truly awesome and I felt every piece of His presence as I heard the announcer say my name and my degree as I walked and got my pretend diploma lol.

What's happened since graduating?  Well... a lot has happened, and nothing has happened lol.  I've been applying for jobs nonstop and I'm looking forward to hearing back from some of them soon.  Everyone has been asking what's next for me and I think it's teaching.  I'll be substitute teaching for a while to see if I like it, and I think I'm going to go back to school for my teaching credential.  I'm leaning towards elementary school but we'll see.  What else?...  I signed up for DoorDash a while ago and that's been interesting lol.  These food delivery services are a fun and easy way to make a little extra cash but it can be overwhelming sometimes; I'll do a post on that soon.

More than anything, I'm finally starting to feel like I accomplished something.  It's been a little over a month since I graduated and for a while it was very discouraging not being able to get into a better job right after college.  I felt a little lost too.  There's this societal pressure to get your life together 24 hours after you graduate, especially if you're like me in your early/mid 20s.  When are you getting marr- stop.  Do you want to have ki- stop.  Are you going to grad schoo- stop.  I don't know, let's just chill.  LOL there's just so many people who want to know your plan for life and it's okay if you don't have everything all figured out right away.  If there's one thing I've learned during my time in college, it's that everything goes according to your own life that God has planned out for you.  I know a few people who are married, some who dropped out, some who have kids, some who aren't doing anything with their life... my focus right now is me.  Whatever stage you're at in life right now, enjoy it and put in work.  If you're feeling like me, just remember that sometimes things have to fall apart before they fall into place.  Be patient and trust God.  If you recently graduated, congratulations!  If you're still in school, keep going!  See you in my next post...

"Many are the plans in a person's heart, but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails." Proverbs 19:21 NIV
